Stay 6th - 9th Feb 2026 Caledonian trip. The Hotel: The New Loretta. "All the staff, reception, bar, restaurant & housekeeping, were so professional & organised from checking in to checking out. Nothing was a problem for them & everything done with a cheery smile. We had requested a ground floor twin with a walk in shower as we both have mobility & health issues & that is exactly what we got. A ground floor room that was clean, lovely & warm, well decorated & yes a lovely double walk in shower. The room was cleaned daily & any used items replenished ( tea, coffee milk etc) Meals: we were allocated a table for the duration of our stay (great idea), which avoids queues at mealtimes. Breakfast plentiful, cereal, fruit juice, toast & a good selection of hot food ( self serve) Evening meal offered a choice of 3 starters, main courses & desserts. Orders were taken at breakfast ready for the evening. The food was superb, hot ,tasty & plentiful & those with dietary needs appeared to be well accomodated. Entertainment: Friday we had a male singer & a couple of games of bingo. Really enjoyable & a good singalong & boogie had by all. Saturday " I'll come back to" Sunday : Lady singer & bingo. A great night, we'd of paid extra to listen to her, a brilliant end to our trip. Excursions: The weather wasn't brilliant, but hey ho it was February in Wales. Interesting trips out, do them if you can. Sundays was a leisure day, the hotel is 5 mins walk to the seafront with its lovely flat promenade ,shops & cafes etc. Good for anyone with mobility issues. Downer : The "entertainer" Jeff Page on the Saturday night. I'll use entertainer loosely as he was nothing more than a poor man's karaoke singer. He was particularly rude & obnoxious to another lady guest, who done nothing other than enjoy herself the night before, encouraging others to dance & join in. This so called professional, had no talent, no people skills & a severe case of little man syndrome, as he wouldn't let the matter drop, even approaching the guests table & annoying those sat close by. His behaviour was disgusting. Other guests also pointed out that when he did the bingo, the pay out that evening was a lot less than the other 2 evenings, make your own conclusions on that one. The hotel really should look at replacing him with someone more professional. Overall: A fabulous holiday, people from all over the North East Yorkshie etc were all sociable& chatty with each other, making an effort to include all, it was pleasant & enjoyable. We would recommend this trip 100 % and will certainly be back. 5* to both Caledonian & The New Loretta & thank you.

WOW! From stepping into the Hotel foyer....the vibe was AMAZING! It was a Turkey and tinsel break, so quality Christmas trees were around, piped Christmas music it looked fantastc, already It was evedent to see this was a well kept hotel.....SPOTLESS! Having travelled with Caledonia coaches from HULL, on the 3/11/25 we arrived early, so naturally the rooms were not quite ready, complimentary mince pies were given, and with 20 mins our rooms were ready! Now here were this hotel was on another level....THE STAFF! So friendly, warm, and proffesional, my room was a single room which was SPOTLESS- FAULTLESS! spacious for single room, warm and inviting, bedding beautifully crisp and clean. The bar area/ and drinks / deco/ music....bang on. It was nearly tea- time, and the masses gathered, everything was handled with great presion! Calm, and smiles, our coach driver from Hull gave us our choices of food before we arrived , We chose Cod in parsley sauce! and it was tasty, hot, with plenty of veg, Faultless, Tomatoe soup as my chosen starter was wholesome and tasty, followed by my chosen strawberry desert. Fortunately for the HULL coach , our driver asked us our choice/ preferences on route which were re- layed back to Kitchen...I believe other coachs didn't do this! However the kitchen / weighting staff stepped up and managed the whole operation PERFECTLY! Effortlessly! All staff at this splendid hotel, are a CREDIT YO THE CATERING AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY! I've travelled all over! and this hotel and its TEAM.... SIMPLY THE BEST. your hard work is, was appreciated. RESPECT to ALL.

Great few days away, comfortable hotel in a quiet location but close to all amenities. Staff very friendly and so helpful. At night only one on the bar but so good at his job and didn't appear to be long to wait .staff on reception always greeted you and staff in dinning room gave great service. My only criticism is room could have been a little more roomy but was spotless and beds comfy. Will definitely be returning

Hotel was clean, rooms was well equipped although could do with updating. We stayed for 3 nights upon arrival we was welcomed and told what time meals was and which restaurant to use. 5.45 1st night & 6pm the following nights we was sat at a table and told that was where we had to sit for each meal (breakfast 8am-9am and tea 6pm-7pm ) we had to share our table with another person which was not a problem, Breakfast was a standard cooked breakfast or continental. The toaster was very slow. We had a menu to chose from each morning for our evening meal and leave it on the table. Each evening meal was a very small change from the night before we had a chicken dinner (Fri) turkey dinner (Sat) & a pork dinner (Sun) food was ok. Nothing much to do until the entertainment started at 7.30pm 1st bingo then a singer which only 1 night we stayed up for as we were exhausted but sounded great upstairs wasn't that loud upstairs but you could hear it we was on the 1st floor. The only thing that let it down really was the horrible smell in the one part of the bar that would wonder through evey now and again. We guessed that the men's toilets were leaking up above the bar and when the the flush was pulled that's when the smell would appear again as the smell was in the same area as the toilets up above. The 4 free drinks each a night was a nice bonus though. I would come back as it was a good location only a 5 min walk to the town and 10 min walk to the train station, staff was friendly and helpful. Towels & soap was supplied along with tea, coffee etc refilled everyday

Nice hotel not too far from sea front. Friendly efficient staff. Stayed there through caledonian trip for 4 nights. Meals at breakfast, self service and evening meal choice of 3 starters, mains and dessert. All were good and service fast and friendly. Bar area can get a little busy but no problems getting served a drink. Evening entertainment and bingo if you want to take part. Special mention to Dave, Caledonian coach driver. Did bingo twice, larger than life character made coach trips more interesting and informative. Rooms OK, cleaned each day reasonable size. Only downsize no shower gel in room, but a minor issue.

We stayed here for 5 days as part of a coach trip, you really cant fault the place. The staff are amazing they cant do enough for you. The food is lovely especially the home made soups. Drinks are reasonably priced. The entertainment on an evening is also good. Its clean and its tidy. Our room was on the small size but you're only sleeping in it. The only thing I can grumble about is its like a sauna i dont think I've been in a hotel as hot. I'll just know for next time to pack my fan it's a lovely place to stay and we will return.

This is a new hotel for us with Caledonian Coach Holidays and although having dropped people off here this is our first visit. Situated in a residential area, our last Llandudno hotel was a sea front hotel The Marine. A room, not the reception, was used for our arrival. We were given information and our room key card. Fortunately our room was ready for occupation so in we went. A fair sized room and with the weather being on the chilly side it was warm and comfortable. Then it was a case of looking around the place to get your bearings. We had the drinks included option so it was our drinks then back to our room to relax. The outlook from the window was nothing to shout about, it was the back of the hotel. We just closed the curtains and enjoyed our drinks before getting ready for our evening meal. The bathroom was of the larger size, and with a large radiator it was comfortable. I took time, as I always do, to sort out the workings of the shower. But a couple of things were disappointing, I had to climb into the bath to reach the taps. The shower screen could not be moved outward only inwards. The other thing was a bit more of an inconvenience. Having been in many other Caledonian owned hotels we have always been used to certain things. Like the grab handle on the wall around the bath, we are at an age where such things are useful. In this bathroom there wasn't one. You had to have your trust in holding on to the fragile shower screen. The shower mat, as always, welcome. As was the vanity light above the bathroom mirror. No curtains or blinds up at the window but heavily frosted glass. Once it worked it's way through plenty of hot water from the shower, the same at the the sink. Bedside lights as well as main room lights, the TV worked fine unlike some other hotels that we have stayed in. Then the restaurant, after being in the Torbay a few times this hotels set up was a big disappointment. Cramped I would call it and no individual tables to seat two people. The service couldn't be faulted even though on the odd occasion staffing was a problem. As for the food if you have stayed in a different Caledonian hotel then you know what to expect. The menus at these hotels tend to be similar but not necessarily the same. I am just glad that they got rid of those overly inflated pastry meat pies. Prick the pastry and there was hardly anything left to eat. The current meat pies are a big improvement, in fact the food overall is varied and fine. So the short version, room clean, comfortable but with no outlook. The hotel, generally busy, the bar had most of the main drinks, I don't know about prices as our drinks were included in the package. Entertainment was on offer as well as bingo, we never bother, retiring to our room instead. The hotel itself is not far from the sea front or the many shops available. All in all we hope to visit again at some point.
